Arena football: Blizzard moves Friday's game time
The Green Bay Blizzard has moved the time of its af2 first-round playoff game on Friday from 7:30 to 8 p.m.
The Green Bay Packers have a night training camp session on Friday that begins at 6:30 p.m., prompting the time change.
The No. 3-seeded Blizzard hosts the Lexington Horsemen in the playoff game, which will feature $1 beer, soda and hot dogs.
The 2008 season marked the franchise's best performance on and off the field.
The Blizzard posted an 11-5 regular-season record — the best in the team's six-year existence — and saw its home attendance jump to an all-time high of 6,248 per game.
Five players also set or tied career and single-season team records.
Wide receiver Robert Garth added to his franchise records in four categories: career scoring (496 points), career receptions (203), career receiving yards (2,915 yards) and career receiving touchdowns (74).
St. Norbert College alumnus Bob Forstrom set team records for career field goals made (19) and single-season field goals made (15).
Defensive lineman Joe Sykes set the career and single-season sack record with 18½, which leads af2.
Wide receiver and University of Wisconsin-La Crosse alumnus Scott Burnoski tied the Blizzard's single-season record of 83 receptions, while defensive back Rusty Midlam intercepted a career and single-season record 12 passes.
