Badgers coach doesn't expect RB Hill to practice before bowl
An extended layoff might not be long enough to get leading rusher P.J. Hill back in the lineup for the 18th-ranked Wisconsin football team.
Badgers coach Bret Bielema tells The Associated Press today he doesn't expect P.J. Hill to practice prior to Wisconsin's January 1st game in the Outback Bowl against No. 16 Tennessee.
He says P.J. Hill hasn't practiced up to now, although there's still a chance he will be able to before the game.
If not, Bielema said backups Lance Smith and Zach Brown will pick up the slack.
P.J. Hill left the Badgers' October 27th game against Indiana with a lower leg bruise. He was sidelined against Ohio State and carried only five times for 14 yards against Michigan the following week. He was sidelined again for the season finale at Minnesota.
The coach says has no reason to believe that P.J. Hill's injury would require surgery in the offseason.
He says he's been told it's just a matter of time for healing.
