Wisconsin 41 Minnesota 34
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Davis Gilreath and Zach Brown made several big plays for 24th-ranked Wisconsin in a 41-34 triumph at Minnesota.
Gilreath racked up 226 return yards against the team he initially committed to last year but backed out when coach Glen Mason was fired. Gilreath continued to give the Badgers great field position to help them improve to 9-and-3 overall, 5-and-3 in the Big Ten.
Brown rushed for 250 yards and two touchdowns in place of the injured P.J. Hill. Wisconsin trailed 13-10 until Brown ran 16 yards for a TD early in the third quarter. He added a four-yard scoring run that put the Badgers ahead 41-27 with 5:11 remaining.
Adam Weber threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns for the 1-and-11 Gophers, who finish winless in the Big Ten for the first time in 24 years. Minnesota went 0-and-8 versus conference foes.
